Welcome to Ladybur Housing

Where a sense of community spirit is encouraged

In the early 1970's appalling living conditions led a group of frustrated but determined people to chase what they thought was the impossible dream. However, with a great deal of grit and determination the folks of Ladysmith Road and Burbridge Way, (hence the name Ladybur) made their dream a reality.

Now approaching four decades, instead of rising damp, rotting windows, litter-strewn pavements, antiquated plumbing and electrical wiring and no central heating, homes are now completely modernised with all the facilities most people have enjoyed for years without question.

Over the years and through much hard work, the estate has been pedestrianised, (see estate pics of the early years to today) and radically revamped with some ground breaking initiatives thrown in too. Including a unique flat to pitch roof conversion which appeared in media publications to much acclaim. The Organisation also won a prestigious award for its appearance. Led by a Committee made up primarily of residents, Ladybur continues to be a forward thinking and innovative Co-operative. The estate is run from its purpose built offices where an open door policy offers a sense of community spirit which is always encouraged.
